Advanced Surgical Techniques
Our team includes three highly trained oncoplastic breast surgeons with specialist expertise in breast reconstruction. Together, we provide comprehensive care across all aspects of breast cancer surgery and reconstruction, offering techniques tailored to each individual’s needs.
Innovation in Breast Surgery
We are proud to incorporate the latest technology and advanced surgical techniques into our practice, ensuring the highest level of precision and patient care.
SPY-PHY Portable Handheld Imager
This technology uses fluorescence imaging to provide real-time assessment of blood flow during breast reconstruction surgery.
It also allows for accurate identification of sentinel lymph nodes.
Introduced by Dr Owen Morris in 2019; making him one of the first surgeons in NSW to adopt the technology. It is proven to improve reconstruction outcomes and is now available at Lingard and Maitland Private Hospitals where it is routinely used for breast reconstructions and lymph node biopsies.
Magseed & Sentimag Probe
During his fellowship in England, Dr Owen Morris trained in the use of this innovative device and was the first to introduce it locally.
Magseed: a tiny marker the size of a grain of rice, placed in the breast at any time before surgery.
Sentimag Probe: accurately detects the Magseed, guiding the surgeon precisely to the cancer.
This technique avoids the need for traditional hookwires, improving comfort and flexibility for patients.
