Meet Our Practice Nurse

Registered Nurse & Breast Cancer Nurse Specialist

Belinda is our breast care nurse at Newcastle Surgical Group and her usual working days with us are Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Alongside her work in our practice, she also serves as a Clinical Nurse Specialist in the operating theatres at Calvary Mater Newcastle Hospital.

Belinda plays a key role in our patient care, offering:

• Pre- and post-operative support for breast and general surgery patients;

• Guidance and advocacy to help patients navigate complex health information;

• Coordination of care between hospital teams and the practice; and

• Emotional support with a warm, approachable communication style

Belinda completed her Diploma of Health Science Nursing at the University of Western Sydney before commencing her career at Royal North Shore Hospital, specialising in perioperative nursing. She went on to hold senior roles at St Vincent’s Hospital Sydney, including Clinical Nurse Specialist and Nursing Unit Manager. During this time, she also completed further postgraduate studies, gaining:

• Graduate Certificate in Perioperative Nursing (Australian Catholic University)

• Graduate Certificate II in Sterilisation Technology

Belinda has a strong interest in oncoplastic breast surgery and breast cancer care. To further support her patients, she recently completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Breast Cancer Nursing.

Belinda is committed to providing compassionate, patient-focused care. She combines her extensive surgical and cancer care knowledge with empathy and clear communication, ensuring patients and their families feel supported throughout their treatment journey.
